Major Investments

The £650 million of planned investment in Ashford is on track to deliver major infrastructure improvements, commercial developments, retail and leisure schemes, and new state of the art learning facilities all within the next four years. This transformational investment will drive forward Ashford's growth, but is only the start of the doubling of the size of the town by 2031.

Completion of the multi-million Stour Leisure Centre remodelling. Completion of the 200,000 sq ft (18,581 sq m) extension to County Square Shopping Centre. Introduction of high-speed rail services to London reducing the travel time to 37 minutes. Development of new commercial office space around Ashford International and domestic railway station.
Completion of £7 million improvement to junction 10 of the M20 motorway. Completion of the remodelling of Ashford Ring Road. Start of capacity improvements to Junction 9 of the M20 motorway. Development of large-scale residential neighbourhoods (5-6,000 homes).
Completion of the first 50,000 sq ft (4.645 sq m) of a proposed 1,250,000 sq ft (116,129 sq m) space at Eureka Business Park. Opening of the new 90,000 sq ft (8.361 sq m) Debenhams department store in the County Square shopping centre extension. Development of Elwick Place, a 6.65 acre town centre, mixed use scheme. £24 million investment to improve the supply of water and completion of the water main link from Bewl Water.
