Ashford Construction Project
Ashford’s Future has commissioned Remade South East to deliver
the Ashford Construction Project to provide advice and expertise on
Site Waste Management Plans and other aspects of sustainable
construction to construction sites in Ashford.
The project aims to
encourage sites to minimise and recycle waste, rather than send it
straight to landfill and supports delivery of sustainable
growth in the town.
The project was launched in October 2008 and immediately
resulted in five construction companies pledging their support to
the scheme.
A total of thirteen
companies and nine active sites are now committed to the project
and over 1,600 tonnes was diverted from landfill in the first
year.
The Ashford Construction Project provides companies with:
- FREE Practical help with Site Waste Management Plans including
creation, monitoring and data collection
- FREE Tool-box talks and Site Waste Management Plans training
sessions
- FREE Procurement assistance to minimise waste and increase
recycled-content materials
