Countryside
Ashford has a wealth of natural heritage and woodland waiting to
be explored. It offers everything from the protected Romney Marsh
to the rural countryside of the Kent Downs, an area of outstanding
natural beauty and places such as Kings Wood are a focal point for
art and sculpture.
Green spaces and waterways are incredibly important, providing a
huge range of benefits including flood protection, wildlife
conservation, getting around, recreational space, leisure
activities, education and cultural experiences.
Already Ashford has a network of parks, recreation
grounds and green spaces that run alongside rivers right through
the town. Planning is underway to connect the waterways, green
spaces and corridors.
