Flood Risk Assessment
The Environment Agency has produced a 25-year Ashford Integrated Water
Strategy (AIWS) to tackle all water-related issues in Ashford.
The plan outlines the aims to:
- To protect and enhance the environment, now and for future
generations
- Reduce the risk of floods and droughts to life and
property
- Manage the use of water wisely to secure a reliable water
supply
- Provide adequate wastewater facilities for protection of the
public health, amenity, recreation and quality of life
A range of partners including water companies and countryside
organisations have contributed to the strategy to ensure the River
Stour and its tributaries maintain a healthy ecology and
wildlife.
